Five people injured in collapse of house in Astrakhan Region

In the village of Liman, Astrakhan Region, five persons were hurt by a collapse of a two-storey residential house; three of them were hospitalized.

Today, the Ministry for Emergencies (MfE) of the Astrakhan Region has received a message about a gas explosion in an apartment building. According to the MfE, the explosion occurred on the second level of the house No. 11 in Kirov Street. The fire was extinguished; now the ruins are being removed.

Rescuers have already saved an elderly woman with closed fractures from under the rubbles; two other victims had body burns. They were taken to hospital. Two other victims refused to be hospitalized, according to the website of the Regional MfE.

Residents of the house were temporarily accommodated in a kindergarten.

At examining the scene, employees of the MfE found fragments of an exploded gas cylinder, the "Interfax" reports referring to a source from the department of the Regional MIA.
