Stavropol Territory: at trial on terrorism prosecutor demands 22-25 years in prison for defendant
The Stavropol Territorial Court in Pyatigorsk has ended the debates of the parties of the prosecution and the defence in the case of the residents of the Neftekumsk District, accused of plotting terror acts. The prosecutors have asked for the punishment for the defendants in the form of 22, 24 and 25 years in prison.
The residents of the Neftekumsk District Anvarbek Amangaziev, Islamkhan Abdurakhmanov and Eldar Kaibaliev are accused of banditry, terrorism, attempted murder of law enforcers and an attempted murder.
The defendants plead not guilty on any of the presented charges.
The judicial investigation, which ended on December 20, had lasted for over more than 50 court sessions, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
The next court session is scheduled for January 25, 2013. It is expected that the defendant will be given the last word; then the judges will retired to the jury room to discuss the verdict.
