Conservative Party leaves ANC

Today, the Conservative Party of Armenia, a member of the oppositional Armenian National Congress (ANC), has declared its withdrawal from the ANC. The decision was made after the former President Levon Ter-Petrosyan, the leader of the ANC, refused to take part in the presidential election on February 18, 2013.

The Chairman of the Conservative Party of Armenia Mikael Airapetyan has issued a statement on the withdrawal of his party from the ANC. The party explains its decision by the refusal of the leader of the ANC to participate in the presidential race.

"Our party is grateful to the first president for heading the people's movement in 2007. We'll continue our consistent struggle for establishment of the constitutional order and Western values in Armenia," says the statement.
