Dagestan: resident of Shamkhal believed as kidnapped released

Abdurakhman Abakarov, a resident of the village of Shamkhal, who had been considered as kidnapped, was kept at the Centre for Combating Extremism, where he had been taken for questioning. Now Abakarov is at large, said his advocate Israpil Gadadov.

According to eyewitnesses, this afternoon in a suburb of Makhachkala, unidentified men in civilian clothes have dragged Abdurakhman Abakarov into a car and taken him away to some unknown place. His wife also saw the incident, after which the family began searching Abakarov.

"I first went with my relatives to the Kirov ROVD (District Interior Division), but Abakarov was not there," Israpil Gadadov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. "Then we headed to the Centre for Combating Extremism – they confirmed his whereabouts. After interrogation, Abakarov was released without seeing any charges."

According to Gadadov, the only reason for detaining Abakarov could be in his belonging to the Salafi trend of Islam.
