Gori budget has funds to restore monument to Stalin

The 2013 budget of the City Municipality of Gori, Georgia, has funds to restore the monument to Stalin.

In June 2010, without warning the townspeople, they dismantled the monument to Stalin in the city of Gori, where he was born. Later, residents of the city collected signatures for restoration of the monument.

After dismantling, it was reported about the idea to move the monument to the house-museum of Stalin, but later journalists found the sculpture a few kilometres from the city overturned near the ruins of an old building, the "RIA Novosti" reports.

The fact that the amount necessary to restore the monument had been allotted in the budget was announced on December 20 at a sitting of the City Council, the "Georgia-Online" reports.
