"Le Monde": Gerard Depardieu to play role of Akhmat Kadyrov in film about restoration of Grozny
Actor Gerard Depardieu is preparing to play the role of Akhmat Kadyrov, the first Chechen president, in the film "Father's Heart". The next film, involving Gerard Depardieu, will also be shot in Grozny, and the French actor will play a role of gangster in that film. This was reported by the French newspaper "Le Monde".
The film, in which Gerard Depardieu will play the role of Akhmat Kadyrov, will be devoted to the reconstruction of Chechnya after the wars, the "Gazeta.ru" reported on May 15 with reference to the newspaper "Le Monde".
The actor will also take part in another film, which is to be shot in Grozny and Moscow. The name of the film will be "Turquoise". Gerard Depardieu will play the role of a former gangster, and his partner will be Elizabeth Hurley, the "RBC" reports.
It should be noted that during his visit to Chechnya, the French actor said he wanted to shoot a film "to show what one can shoot a film in Grozny."
