Charges against former KBR officials of abusing power are unlawful
Today, the Nalchik City Court has declared illegal the charges of abuse of power of the figurants of the case of trying to sell the building of the Philharmonic Society, said the lawyer Ruslan Koblev.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Vladimir Zhamborov, the former head of the office of the head of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR); Khabdulsalam Ligidov, the former Minister of State Property and Land Resources; and his deputy Ruslan Zhamborov were accused of a fraud, when transferring into ownership of the building of the Republic's Philharmonic Society. In April, the charge was complemented with the article about the abuse of power; however, according to defence, it was done illegally.
According to Ruslan Koblev, today the court has considered the complaint of one of the defendants in the case and admitted the charge of abuse of power as illegal; however, the charge of fraud was not lifted, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
At this point, all the three defendants are kept in custody. Their arrest was extended till June 7.
Vladimir Zhamborov has treated the case as politically motivated; so far, no comments have arrived from Ruslan Zhamborov and Khabdulsalam Ligidov regarding the allegations.
