Six veterans of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict presented with new cars
In Stepanakert, on the occasion of the May 9 holiday, during the opening ceremony of the administrative building of the Union of Liberators of Artsakh, six participants of the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh were presented with Lada cars received from sponsors. One more car was handed over to Union of Liberators.
On that day, Nagorno-Karabakh marked a triple holiday: the Day of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the Shushi Liberation Day and the Day of Foundation of the Karabakh Defence Army.
All the seven cars were provided by sponsors Ruben Airapetyan from Armenia and Samvel Gevorkyan from Russia, who made their gifts to the veterans in honour of the triple holiday.
Karen Sarkisyan has medals for various services to the country; and his family was very happy with the car, the veteran of the armed conflict said.
It is the largest material reward he ever had, said another veteran Alexander Israelyan. He said that the car will be at the disposal of the members of his family; and he will be their driver.
Karen Mangasaryan is a driver by profession, but he had never had his own car, said his mother, Naira Mangasaryan. "We are very pleased to have this car; we are very grateful, because we could not afford buying it ourselves."
