Ruling coalition wins midterm parliamentary elections in Georgia
At the midterm elections to the Parliament of Georgia, held under the majority system in three constituencies, the winners were the candidates nominated by the ruling coalition "Georgian Dream".
On April 27, the Nadzaladevi, Bagdati and Samtredia single-member constituencies held voting to the Parliament under the majority system. Over 23 candidates had run for the mandates. On the average, the voter turnout was about a third of the registered electorate.
The results of the midterm elections were summed up on May 10. The Nadzaladevi Constituency, located in Tbilisi, saw the victory of Tamar Kordzaya: 15,487 of 140,892 registered voters had voted for her.
The Bagdati Constituency has fixed the victory of Paata Kiknavelidze, who had won 6975 votes out of 23,351 registered ones.
The Samtredia Constituency has fixed the victory of Georgy Kakhiani: 17,163 voters out of the total 48,455 registered had voted for him, said the press service of the CEC.
The voting procedure was observed by monitoring groups: the CEC had accredited 20 Georgian and seven international NGOs.
