In Volgograd, parents of large families postpone date of hunger strike
Today, in Volgograd, at the Marshal Chuikov's tomb at Mamaev Kurgan, parents of large families announced that they postpone the beginning of a hunger strike and that they would report the start date of the protest action later.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in Volgograd, at the rally of May 6, mothers of large families claimed that the authorities ignore their problems and acknowledged their intention to declare a hunger strike on May 9.
Today, at the Marshal Chuikov's tomb, 12 parents of large families gathered. Earlier, Elena Samoshina, the organizer of the protest action, reported that 34 families would take part in the protest action.
"Today, the action gathered the parents who are afraid of nothing. Yesterday, we met war veterans and came to the conclusion that we would not start a hunger strike on the great holiday," Elena Samoshina stated in her interview to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
She has added that the parents of large families do not decline their intentions.
"We will report the date of the protest action in the nearest future," Elena Samoshina has stressed.
Let us remind you that the rallies to demand attention to the problems of large families in Volgograd were held on April 10 and on April 20. The participants of the rallies demanded to provide the large families with land plots till June 01, 2013 and to establish till April 30 the commission to solve their social problems.
Earlier, Roman Grebennikov, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Volgograd Region, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that "the problems were to be solved". A source in the regional government noted that the governor took the issue of land plots under his control.
