Kotelnikov: organizer of rally in support of political prisoners detained in Volgograd
Nikolai Cherniavskiy, one of the organizers of the rally with a demand of freedom for political prisoners and an activist of the "Left-Wing Front", was detained by law enforcement officials, as Valery Kotelnikov, the co-chairman of the regional branch of the "RPR-Parnas", has reported.
The rally was held in Lenin Square and gathered about 50 people, who held posters: "Yabloko: land, houses and roads to large families in Volgograd!", "Freedom to political prisoners - Russia will be free!", "Putin - into Magnitsky list!" and others. The rally was attended by mothers of many children, who declared their intention to go on a hunger strike on May 9, because the authorities "ignore their problems."
At the end of the meeting, Nikolai Cherniavskiy was approached, when he was walking by the Pedagogical University, "by several people, presumably, agents of the Centre to Combat Extremism, and invited him to go with them for a talk. Nikolai refused; then these agents called a police unit; and Nikolai was taken away," Valery Kotelnikov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent".
Let us remind you that on April 10 Cherniavskiy's apartment was searched by agents of the FSB and the above Centre. According to the Investigatory Committee, the search was carried out in connection with the case of mass riots in Bolotnaya Square in Moscow during the "March of Millions" on May 6, 2012.
