Rostov-on-Don: 100 come to support "prisoners of Bolotnaya Square"
Today, Rostov-on-Don has held a rally in defence of the figurants of the criminal case on disorders in Bolotnaya Square. The action was about 100 persons strong.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the action was agreed with the authorities.
In the time interval of 6:00-7:00 p.m., about a hundred citizens gathered in Lenin Square in Rostov-on-Don, gathered; about half of them were activists of the public organizations "Parnas", "Civic Platform", "The Other Russia", "Left-Wing Front", while the others just came to support the action, the edition named "161.ru" reports.
The event passed under supervision of a relatively small number of policemen; no incidents were recorded, and no excesses during or after the rally are reported.
As reported by the "Rostov News Agency", on the same day, Rostov-on-Don also marked one year after events in Bolotnaya Square by the so-called "people's trial" of members of the liberal opposition. The action in the form of a staged performance was organized by activists of the "Eurasian Youth Union": at the entrance to Gorky Park they shot the balloons bearing the names of well-known members of the opposition.
