OSCE urges Georgia to cooperate with human rights agencies

The new Georgian leadership should have closer contacts with representatives of human rights agencies. The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) holds such an opinion.

According to Christian Strohal, Director of the OSCE's Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), who came out at a press conference in the Georgian capital, official Tbilisi should use the possibility it has due to the "Rose Revolution" to establish contacts between "the electors and the elected". Christian Strohal also said he was sure the 28 March parliamentary elections in Georgia would be free and democratic.
