In Nalchik, rally against law enforcers' tyranny attended by about 20 persons

In Nalchik, participants of the today's rally spoke against tyranny of law enforcement agents and human rights violations in Kabardino-Balkaria. The protest action was attended by about twenty persons, not including journalists and policemen on duty.

The rally was held in front of the "Rodina" (Motherland) Cinema. The information about the rally was disseminated through social networks. This was reported by Timur Kuashev, the organizer of the protest action, when he commented on the low number of protestors. Besides, he proposed to transform the rally "to a press conference in the open air."

According the Timur Kuashev's report, he invited to the protest action the organization "Mothers of Kabardino-Balkaria for Citizens' Rights and Freedoms" and the organization "Peace to Your Home" created by relatives of killed law enforcement agents. The first organization sent several persons to attend the rally, and representatives of the organization "Peace to Your Home" did not come, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

Then, Timur Kuashev gave the floor to Muradin Berov, whose 29-year-old son suffered from the actions of law enforcement agents.

On March 6, 2012, Inal Berov was brought to the building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), where, according to his father's story, policemen tortured him to confess committing the crime in which he was not involved. Later, all charges against him were cancelled, and he was acquitted. A criminal case was instituted against the policemen. However, according to the relatives' version, the investigation into it is being deliberately delayed.

Zamir Bekshokov, a resident of the town of Chegem, reported at the rally that his 16-year-old son and his friend were beaten at the Chegem ROVD (District Interior Division).

The law enforcement agents who monitored the progress of the rally refused to comment on the statements of the speakers and stated that the resolution of the rally would be thoroughly checked.
