Rally in Krasnodar collects signatures to petition to Putin in support of Mikhail Savva

In Krasnodar, at a rally in support of Mikhail Savva, the director of grant programmes at the "Southern Regional Resource Centre", about a hundred signatures were collected to the petition demanding to stop prosecuting the arrested human rights activist, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

The action that lasted for two hours was attended by a total of 100-150 people; the crowd listened to relatives of Mikhail Savva, his colleagues, students, alumni and faculty members, and civil society activists of the Krasnodar Territory.

Prior to start the event, the organizers installed a poster, where everyone could leave a message or wish to Mikhail Savva. During the rally dozens of stickers were filled in with messages to the arrested professor. The organizers promise to deliver all the messages personally to Mikhail Savva.

In parallel with the rally in support of Mikhail Savva, activists of national-patriotic associations of Krasnodar, who had earlier planned to hold a picket near the fountain in the grove Chistyakov Grove under the slogan "Savva should stay in jail!", but failed to agree it with the authorities, spread leafleting.

According to the authors of the leaflets, Mikhail Savva "has been distributing American money for many years, promoting liberal ideas, tolerance and western values."
