In Dagestan, 17 participants of Muslim wedding party sentenced to different administrative penalties
17 participants of the incident at the Islamic wedding party in Kizlyar were sentenced to different terms of administrative penalties, and the detention in custody of five of them at the IVS (temporary detention facility) was extended for another two days.
"17 persons were sentenced to different terms of administrative arrest; one person was sentenced to five days, two to seven days, and others would spend 10 days behind bars," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Rasim Ibadanov, a resident of Kizlyar, a participant of the wedding party.
Rasim Ibadanov himself was also brought to the police station in connection with the incident.
"The Judge issued a warrant to extend for another two days the detention in custody of Mikat Mikatov, Murad Abdulmuminov, Magomed Kartashov, Shapi Suleimanov, and Abdul Gapalov," Rasim Ibadanov said.
He has stated that the detainees are not allowed to be visited by hired advocates, that it is impossible to contact them on the mobile phone, and that many of them were brought to trial under police escort in the depth of night.
"We managed to contact the detainees by mobile phone for a short time, and they told us about their troubles," the man said. He has added that they cannot pass food and clothes for the detainees.
According to the Rasim Ibadanov's story, the detainees receive no adequate medical care.
Rasim Ibadanov said that the friends and relatives of the detainees have appealed to Gasan Aigumov, the head of the Public Supervisory Commission of Dagestan to ensure human rights in places of detention.
Gasan Aigumov told the correspondent that he had already talked to the head of the GOVD (City Interior Division).
"He has said that the detainees have no problems and that they may be visited by advocates at any time; however, some of them waived their services," Gasan Aigumov has stated. He has added that he will call again to Kizlyar "to learn how it is going on there".
Advocate Patimat Abdullaeva has confirmed the fact that the detainees are not allowed to be visited by the advocates. "The policeman on duty said that there was an unequivocal instruction of the GOVD's head not to let anyone to visit the detainees. No one took into account my arguments about the law that should not be broken," the advocate told the correspondent.
In her turn, Fatima Ubaidatova, Deputy Chief of the Department of Information and Public Relations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Dagestan, has emphasized that everything goes in accordance with the law.
"The advocates are admitted to the detainees, parcels to the detainees are accepted; doctors were invited and the detainees were examined; they receive the necessary medical care. Nutsalkhanov was detained for violating the law and order, and he was also sentenced to 10 days of administrative arrest," the "Caucasian Knot" was told by a representative of the Dagestani MIA.
