At trial on case of attack on Nalchik, defendants face lawsuit for more than 22 million roubles

Today, at the trial on the case of the attack on the law enforcers of Kabardino-Balkaria that occurred on October 13, 2005, the aggrieved party filed a joint civil lawsuit against the defendants for a total amount of more than 22 million roubles.

Today, at the trial, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Kabardino-Balkaria has filed a lawsuit in the amount of 12,661,000 roubles, and the Centre "T" in the amount of 10,177,000 roubles. The above mentioned amounts include lump sum payments to the families of the killed law enforcers, compensation payments to the law enforcers who got injuries of different degrees of severity, and the amount of damage inflicted in the attack to the buildings, vehicles, property of the law enforcement agencies, the officials from the MIA and the Centre "T" stated during the trial.

The civil lawsuit also includes lifetime payments to persons unable to work because of injuries. The volume of claims comprised ten pages, and the attachments to them comprised more than two hundred pages, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

The advocates asked for a break to coordinate their positions. The discussion of the civil lawsuit is scheduled for May 15.
