The Krasnodar regional NGO Guild of Journalists and PR Specialists has completed its Press and Society project, which was implemented with the assistance of the International Research & Exchanges Board (IREX). The main task of the project was to stimulate interest of journalists, both professionals and students, to the activity of non-government organizations (NGOs), to form skills in working with them. This task has been fulfilled to a great extent.

The booklet "NGOs as Independent Source of Information (Reference Book for Journalists)", which contains information about NGOs working most effectively, was published within the framework of the project. The booklet "A Journalist's Rights" was also published. It focuses journalists' attention on the necessity of public control over the activity of state institutions and officials. The brochures were distributed among students of all departments of journalism of Krasnodar institutions of higher educations, as well as among journalists of city and regional media. Besides, the round table discussion "The Third Sector and the Forth Power" was held for students of the Department of Journalism of the Kuban State University. Experts in the field of the third sector development, journalists obtaining experience of cooperation with NGOs, and representatives of NGOs working in Krasnodar Territory which are of the most interest to the students took part in it.
