In Chechnya, in Quarter 4 of 2012, 15 persons fell victim to the armed conflict

In the territory of the Chechen Republic, in October, November and December 2012, at least 15 persons fell victim of the armed conflict ongoing in Northern Caucasus; of whom five persons perished and 10 more were wounded. These are the results of the calculations made by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

The death toll includes one law enforcer and four persons, involved, according to information of law-enforcement bodies, in the armed underground. The list of wounded persons includes 10 power agents.

In October, the republic had six victims of the armed conflict; of them, one person was killed, and five others were wounded. In November, there were also six suffered persons - two were killed and four more were wounded. In December, there were three victims, including two casualties and one wounded person.

The above statistics is unable to reflect, with a 100-percent precision, the number of victims under each of the categories specified in the report. Not all the data gets into news reports. It is not always possible to verify the truthfulness of the statements made by law-enforcement bodies.

In the first quarter of 2012, under the calculations of the "Caucasian Knot", 78 persons of Chechnya fell victim to the armed conflict - 36 persons were killed and at least 42 more were wounded. In the second quarter, 24 persons fell victim to the armed conflict in the republic - 15 persons perished and nine more were wounded. During the third quarter, in the territory of Chechnya at least 57 persons fell victim to the armed conflict; of them, 26 persons perished and 31 more received wounds.

In 2011, at least 201 persons fell victim to the armed conflict in Chechnya; of them, at least 95 persons were killed, and 106 more were wounded.

  • Two natives of Northern Caucasus injured in shootout near “Wildberries” office in Moscow
