Prisoners are consulted in Rostov Region

Today, the Rostov Region has launched the action called "Legal Train". Within the action, lawyers of different legal spheres will provide consultations to prisoners in all prisons in the Rostov Region.

According to the information of Sergey Smirnov, Head of the Chief Department of the Russian Federal Correction Service (GUFSIN) of the Rostov Region, the penitentiary institution No. 2 of high security became the first penal colony, which was attended by the lawyers. About 100 prisoners expressed their wish to obtain legal advice.

Sergey Smirnov has noted that was the first time of such massive attendance of penal colonies by lawyers, advocates, human rights defenders, prosecutors, doctors, and representatives of the Ombudsman, the Church and the Public Council under the Regional GUFSIN.

The main part of the questions asked by the prisoners concerned the organization of their lives after their release and the service of their sentences. Sergey Smirnov has stated that the new forms of communication will be also implemented in the communication with relatives of the prisoners. On April 29, he will answer their questions over the phone, RIA "Novosti" reports.

According to the statement of Fedor Derigo, Chairman of the Public Council under the Russian GUFSIN in the Rostov Region, all prisoners' questions will be collected and analyzed, the "Don_TR" reports.
