In Georgia, prisoners of Gldani Prison No. 8 stop hunger strike
Today, in the Gldani Prison No. 8, a hunger strike was stopped, the participants of which demanded to reconsider their cases and conditions of detention.
The decision to stop the hunger strike was made by the prisoners after their meeting with Sozar Subari, Minister of Corrections.
The official has promised the prisoners that their demands will be considered by the Ministry of Corrections and the Parliament of Georgia, the "Ekho Kavkaza" (Echo of the Caucasus) reports today.
"I have promised them that I will work on the problem together with the Parliament. I got in touch with Eka Beseliya, Chairman of the Committee on Human Rights, and, presumably on Sunday or Monday, we'll once again meet the prisoners. Till that time, they decided to stop their hunger strike," the "Georgia Online" quotes Sozar Subari as saying.
