In Dagestan, 108 persons fell victim to the armed conflict in Quarter 1 of 2013

In the territory of the Republic of Dagestan, in the period from January 1 to March 31, 2013, at least 108 persons fell victim to the armed conflict, including 67 casualties and 41 wounded persons. These are the results of the calculations made by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

The death toll includes 18 civilians, 14 power agents and 35 persons, involved, according to law-enforcement bodies, in militants' actions.

In total, 11 civilians, 26 power agents and 4 persons, involved, according to law-enforcement bodies, in the armed underground, were wounded.

In January, 24 persons were victims of the conflict in Dagestan, including 10 casualties and 14 wounded persons. In February, 43 persons suffered, including 31 casualties and 12 wounded persons. In March, 41 persons suffered; of them 26 perished and 15 were wounded.

The above statistics is unable to reflect, with a 100-percent precision, the number of victims under each of the categories specified in the report. Not all the data gets into news reports. It is not always possible to check the truthfulness of the statements made by law-enforcement bodies.

During the previous three months - the last quarter of 2012 - at least 126 persons fell victim to the conflict, of whom 78 persons perished and 48 were wounded.

In 2012, the total count of victims of the conflict in Dagestan was at least 695 persons; of them 405 casualties and 290 those who received wounds of various gravity.
