Moscow hosts evening in memory of victims of Armenian Genocide
On April 23, in Moscow, the Central House of Writers hosted the evening dedicated to the anniversary of the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire in 1915.
During the official part of the evening, Russian politicians and public figures, deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, representatives of the organization "Russian-Armenian Fellowship" and the Armenian Youth Association of Moscow presented speeches. The evening in memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide began with a minute of silence.
The special resolution of the Russian State Duma dated April 14, 1995, recognized condemned the fact of the Armenian Genocide in Turkey. Ivan Melnikov, First Deputy Chairman of the Russian State Duma of the 6th convocation from the faction of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF), sent a message to the participant of the memory evening.
Yuri Navoyan, President of the organization "Russian-Armenian Fellowship", has emphasized that a lot is said about the Armenian Genocide and many resolutions are adopted by different parliaments.
At present, according to Yuri Navoyan's opinion, Armenia faces the challenge to achieve elimination of the consequences of the Armenian Genocide.
"Today, Armenia is under blockade, and the situation should be reconsidered in order to be able to combine Armenians on their ancestral territories. It's time to demand compensation. It is of moral and political significance," Yuri Navoyan has expressed his point of view.
