The Stavropol Territory had no victims of the armed conflict in Quarter 1 of 2013

In the territory of the Stavropol Territory, during January, February and March 2013, there were no victims of the armed conflict ongoing in Northern Caucasus. These are the data of the "Caucasian Knot", based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

During the first two reported months, it became known about detention of four suspects of involvement in the armed underground. It happened on February 15. According to the Russian National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC), two of the detained natives of Karachay-Cherkessia were members of the religious extremist grouping, which committed in July 2012 a murder of the employee of the Russia's MIA for the KChR. At detention, a pistol and a submachine gun were confiscated from them. Also, power agents managed to detain two suspected helpers of IAF members.

One should understand the presented statistics is unable to reflect, with a 100-percent precision, the number of victims under each of the categories specified in the report. Not all the data gets into news reports. It is not always possible to check the truthfulness of the statements made by law-enforcement bodies.

In 2012, in the Stavropol Territory, according to calculations of the "Caucasian Knot", based on the data of our own correspondents and information from other open sources, 12 victims were reported, including 10 casualties and two wounded persons. Among them, there were nine killed members of the armed underground and one civilian; two more civilians were wounded.

In 2011, the Stavropol Territory had 24 victims, including 17 casualties and seven wounded persons. The losses of the armed underground, according to reports of law-enforcement bodies, made 15 persons; and two employees of law-enforcement bodies perished. Six more power agents were wounded.

In 2010, the Territory had 89 victims: 10 casualties and 79 wounded persons, among them, two persons, referred by law enforcers to members of the armed underground, were killed; besides, three civilians were killed and 79 more were wounded.

  • Two natives of Northern Caucasus injured in shootout near “Wildberries” office in Moscow
