In Quarter 1 of 2013, at least 22 persons fell victim to the armed conflict in Kabardino-Balkaria

In the territory of Kabardino-Balkaria, from January 1 to March 31, 2013, at least 22 persons fell victim to the armed conflict, including 20 casualties and two wounded persons. These are the results of the calculations made by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

The casualties include two employees of law-enforcement bodies and 18 persons, involved, according to law-enforcement bodies, in the armed underground.

Two more power agents were wounded.

The "Caucasian Knot" has no data about any victims among the civil population in the first quarter of 2013.

In January, in Kabardino-Balkaria, 13 persons fell victim to the conflict, including 12 casualties and one wounded person. In February, in the territory of the republic two persons suffered - one person was killed, and one more was wounded. In January, seven persons suffered, they all perished.

The above statistics is unable to reflect, with a 100-percent precision, the number of victims under each of the categories specified in the report. Not all the data gets into news reports. It is not always possible to check the truthfulness of the statements made by law-enforcement bodies.

During the preceding quarter, in October-December 2012, at least 39 persons fell victim to the armed conflict in Kabardino-Balkaria: 25 of them perished and 14 were wounded.

In total, in 2012, at least 156 persons fell victim to the armed conflict in Kabardino-Balkaria, of whom 107 persons were killed and 49 were wounded.
