In Georgia, Bidzina Ivanishvili announces "amnesty" for Mikhail Saakashvili's supporters
Bidzina Ivanishvili, Prime Minister of Georgia, announced the termination of persecution of supporters of President Mikhail Saakashvili.
"The process has been completed. The system of violence and falsehood has been destroyed, and at present, we should forgive all those persons who, by choice or not, participated in that system. We should forgive them and come up with something similar to amnesty," the "Georgia Online" quotes Bidzina Ivanishvili as saying during his New Year address to the people of the country.
In his turn, Mikhail Saakashvili in his New Year address to the people of Georgia accused the coalition of Bidzina Ivanishvili "Georgian Dream" of "persecution of opponents, failure to fulfil promises to improve lives of people and attempt to strengthen its political position." However, Mikhail Saakashvili has noted that he is ready to cooperation with the ruling coalition.
