Local resident Yusup Adjiev shot dead in Khasavyurt

In Dagestan, on April 19, after the Friday prayer, Yusup Adjiev, a resident of Khasavyurt and one of public leaders of the Kumyk nation, was shot dead.

A source from the GOVD (City Interior Department) of Khasavyurt told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that Yusup Adjiev, who officially unemployed, died in place from multiple wounds; the circumstances of the incident are being investigated.

According to a source from Adjiev's retinue, the casualty was the leader of the Kumyk nation and planned to run for the post of head of the Khasavyurt District. "I think this was the reason for his murder," said the source.

According to another source that was close to Yusup Adjiev, the man was shot dead after the Friday prayer (namaz), when he came out of the mosque of Khasavyurt, got into his car and drove away from the crowded place.

According to the source, Yusup Adjiev – a native of the village of Toturbiykala – was temporarily unemployed; and earlier he was engaged in the oil business in the republic.
