Residents of Volgograd Region hold picket demanding more affordable health care
A picket "against destruction of Russian health care system" was held today in Volgograd. Residents of the Volgograd Region residents demanded from those in power to preserve and expand access to health care.
The action, agreed with the authorities, took place at the building of the Central Bank as part of the all-Russian campaign "For decent medicine", organized by the movement of patients under the same name, and by the trade union of health workers "Action".
In Volgograd, the picket was supported by 10 people. During the action, they collected signatures to the resolution demanding to introduce a moratorium on closures, mergers and concessions of medical institutions in Russia prior to holding the respective public hearings. The protesters have also called on the authorities to cancel the already made decisions to close medical institutions.
