Suspect of killing journalist Akhmedilov detained in Stavropol

The second suspect of killing Malik Akhmedilov, an employee of the Dagestani newspaper "Hakikat", was detained in Stavropol on April 18, according to the Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF). According to investigators, two residents of Dagestan are suspected of killing the journalist.

Let us remind you that Malik Akhmedilov, an employee of the newspaper "Hakikat" and the magazine "Sogratl", was shot dead on August 11, 2009, in Makhachkala, when leaving his own house. The journalist was shot from a Winchester rifle and died on the spot. The gunmen were unidentified persons who got out of a "Zhiguli" car without number plates and with tinted windows, the eyewitnesses reported.

According to the Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), another suspect of murdering journalist Akhmedilov was detained earlier. At the same time, no date and place of detention were disclosed.

In the near future the issue of the arrest and charging of the suspect, who was detained in Stavropol, will be address, the official website of the ICRF reports today.
