Kutaisi hosts protest of "Accord" drivers
On April 16, the drivers working at the construction of a bypass road in Kutaisi held a protest action outside the parliament, demanding higher salaries.
As stated by the protesters, they work for 15 hours a day; while their employer - the company "Accord" - has reduced their daily wage from 25 down to 20 laris (1 lari equals to 19 roubles - note of the "Caucasian Knot").
Besides, according to the drivers, in case of a car failure they have to pay fines, the "Georgia Online" reports.
Representatives of the regional office of the Georgian Trade Union have supported the drivers, who demand higher wages and abandonment of the policy of sanctions and fines, the "Echo of the Caucasus" reports.
