Defendants on the case of terror in “Domodedovo” airport will stay in custody till April, 30

Today the Panel of judges of Moscow regional court refused to release from custody all the four defendants on the case of terrorist act in “Domodedovo” airport in January of 2011 during which 37 people perished.

The court granted a motion of representatives of Public Prosecutor’s office according to which the reasons for keeping the persons accused of terrorism in custody did not fall away or alter.

“The prosecution party asked the court to prolong the defendants’ custody term for three months, i.e. till April, 30”, state Prosecutor Gulchehra Ibragimova explained.

The attorneys for the defense objected stating that the defendants did not acknowledge themselves guilty and denied their guilt. The defendants themselves also objected strongly supporting their attorneys’ position.

The trial is currently going on.
