MIA of Dagestan is under large-scale check
Employees of the central office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Russia are inspecting the MIA of Dagestan in the context of the criminal case opened against high-ranking law enforcement officials, said a source from the local MIA.
"This is a regular targeted inspection, which is held in the territorial subdivisions of the MIA once every five years," Fatima Ubaidatova, the acting head of the press service of the MIA of Dagestan, has explained.
She has suggested that the current inspection "could just coincide" with the criminal cases brought against MIA officials.
The large-scale inspection was initiated the acting head of Dagestan Ramazan Abdulatipov. He told about it on April 14 at an extraordinary sitting of the board of the Anti-Terrorist Commission of the Republic.
"Today, we cannot completely clear the bodies of state power, because there are bandit formations. Moreover, these bandits and unscrupulous people in power are linked and act together. We must join our efforts against them," the "Interfax" quotes Mr Abdulatipov as saying.
