World War II veteran killed in Nalchik
The police of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) are seeking the criminals who killed Georgy Mogilko, a World War II veteran this morning in Nalchik. The murder has caused a broad resonance in the city.
"Today at 7:35 a.m., Georgy Mogilko, a World War II veteran, born in 1923, was killed in Nalchik – he was found roped and dead in his house. He had savings in the amount of ten thousand roubles – they money is in place. His war decorations – orders and medals – are attached to his jacket in the closet; they were not touched by the robbers," Marina Kyasova, the head of the press service of the MIA of the KBR, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
According to preliminary information, the killers wanted to rob the man, but someone could have frightened them off.
The body of Georgy Mogilko was discovered this morning by his daughter Lyudmila: "My dad's arms and legs were roped; and his head was broken through," the daughter of the veteran told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
Mustafa Abdullaev, the Chair of the Board of Veterans of the city has urged the authorities of the republic to solve the crime.
"For the first time in the KBR after May 9, 1945, a brutal murder of a war veteran was committed," said Mr Abdullaev.
