15th International Tourism Fair opens in Georgia
On April 12, Tbilisi opened the 15th International Tourism Fair housed in the exhibition centre "Expo Georgia", where tourism professionals from Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Turkey, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates are showing their services and achievements.
"The number of exhibitors increases every year. This year, we welcome here 100 travel organizations – both Georgian and foreign," Dmitri Kumsishvili, Deputy Minister of Economy of Georgia, said at the opening ceremony, calling the show "a very important event for Georgia."
A visitor to the exhibition will see sights of Georgia's regions and other countries, folk arts, martial weapons, various souvenirs, "tekoy" (felt articles), watch the process of making kitchen-ware and even taste Pshaw-Khevsurian and Kazbegi beer.
Fifty booths present cultural, historical and wine tours; and extreme and adventure programmes.
