Yuri Budanov's widow testifies at the trial
Svetlana Budanova has stated at the trial that she saw in the place of the crime a light-coloured car with a young driver inside in a cap with a big peak.
"On June 10, 2011, we had to sign documents at a notary office; I was coming by metro; and my husband – by a car. After coming out of the metro, I called my husband. On my way to the office, I passed through the archway into the yard; and Yuri arrived in his car. We talked in the street at about 10 minutes to twelve; and then we went into the office, where the staff began drawing up documents; and my husband went out to have a smoke," said Svetlana Budanova.
Then, according to her story, "a young man ran in and said that there was shooting in the yard." "I ran out and up to my husband; he began wheezing; I asked the people in the yard: 'Who?'; and they told me that he had driven away," the widow told about the circumstances of the crime.
According to her story, someone called an ambulance. "Then I was told that he died at once; in the ambulance they gave me some sedative drug; then our son arrived. In the office, operative agents asked me how it all happened. Near the office I saw a light-coloured car with a young driver in a cap with a large peak; he was thin," the widow of the ex-colonel told the court.
