Russian GPO suspects Akhmed Bilalov of abuse of power
Marina Gridneva, the spokesperson of the General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) of the Russian Federation has reported today that a criminal case was opened against Akhmed Bilalov, the ex-chairman of the board of directors of the Open Joint-Stock Company (OJSC) "Resorts of Northern Caucasus", under the article of abuse of power.
In February, Akhmed Bilalov was dismissed from two high posts – the Vice President of the Russian Olympic Committee and the President of the OJSC "Resorts of Northern Caucasus".
In February, in the course of auditing the funds allocated to the OJSC "Resorts of Northern Caucasus " for development of the tourism cluster, the GPO revealed violations and unjustified expenses.
"Violations were revealed associated with the activities of Akhmed Bilalov, and cases of unjustified costs for travels of the management of the company abroad with elements of luxury," the RIA "Novosti" quotes Ms Gridneva as saying.
The GPO has also found that in 2012 the expenses on the management activities were 1.3 times higher than the total investments into the company, the "Interfax" reports.
