North Ossetia: doctor suspected of selling a baby is in intensive care unit
Valentina Tedeeva, the deputy chief physician of the Republic's Clinical Hospital (RCH) for the obstetric care, suspected of selling a newborn baby, is in the intensive care unit of the first aid hospital of Vladikavkaz, said Elbrus Fidarov, the chief doctor of the medical facility.
He confirmed that Tedeeva had a jump blood sugar. "It takes time to make the sugar normal; she needs some treatment. She can speak," Elbrus Fidarov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
According to investigators, on April 6 Valentina Tedeeva was detained when transferring half of the agreed amount, 500,000 roubles for the baby, whom a 15-year-old mother had rejected.
"During the transfer of the baby, Tedeeva acted as a private person, outside her working hours, outside the RCH, in a private house. Thus, the RCH has nothing to do with this case," Batraz Albegov, the deputy chief physician of the RCH, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
Valentina Tedeeva denies any wrongdoing and believes that a mistake was made at her detention, says her sister Zalina. According to her story, Tedeeva suffers from heart insufficiency, the "Komsomolskaya Pravda" writes.
