Ex-Minister's son killed in special operation buried in Ingushetia

Yakub Mankiev, a son of the former Minister of Agriculture Ingushetia, who was killed during the recent counterterrorist operation (CTO), was buried into the cemetery of the village of Dolakovo, said Yakub's uncle Magomed Darsigov.

The CTO regime was announced in Dolakovo on April 8. "We had never had this regime before," said Ismail M., a resident of Dolakovo.

The Mankiev house, blocked by power agents, was in Stepnaya Street, on the bank of the Kombileevka River.

"Yakub got married five years ago; he has small children, aged four, three and two years. The young family lived in prosperity, unlike many of his peers; Yakub had no need to think about their daily bread, he worked," Ismail M. told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

However, he expressed doubt that Yakub Mankiev was a member of the underground. "Everyone knows everybody in the village; they should have surely noticed anything: who comes and who is talking to whom," said the source.

Yakub Mankiev worked for the Research Institute of Agriculture; he was a candidate of sciences, said Bamat-Girey Mankiev, the casualty's father, who was the Minister of Agriculture of Ingushetia in 2009-11.
