Workers engaged in burned-out building in "Grozny City" talk about lack of special equipment
Four general contractors have begun repair works of the highest building in the complex "Grozny City", burned out on April 3 in the centre of the capital of Chechnya. A source from the organization named "Genstroy" reported about the shortage of special technical means for working at height; such means have been ordered in Turkey.
"Last weekend, several subbotniks were organized in the territory of the 'Grozny City' with participation of high-school pupils and employees of various departments," said the administration of the Chechen capital.
Under the decision of republic's authorities, the burned out 145-meter tower "Olymp" will be renamed into "Phoenix." It is planned to finish a complete reconstruction of the damaged building by October 5, when traditionally Chechnya celebrates several holidays, including the Day of the City of Grozny and the birthday of the leader Ramzan Kadyrov.
Local observers believe that at reconstruction of the building, first a number of problems shall be addressed. "Firstly, it is necessary to solve the problem of emergency water supply. Secondly, only professionals should be involved in the works. Thirdly, not to save money on materials and buy high-quality composite materials for the facade, rather than cheap tiles mode by Chinese or nobody knows whom," said Adam B., a former employee of the Ministry of Construction of the Chechen Republic.
