The residents and guests of Sochi complain of walks round the city on the New Year’s holidays being dangerous

Residents and guests of Sochi state the danger of walking along the streets because of unceasing construction of high-rise buildings, the absence of sidewalks and traffic of large-size freight transport in the city.

“On December, 31, fittings feel down in half a meter distance from me near a tall annex of the market in Severnaya street. I thank the kind people who sat me down on a chair and gave me sedative and heart pills”, pensioner Nina Emelyanenko shared her New Year’s impressions.

The Kalinovs, a family residing in Chaikovskiy street, complained of the absence of safe passageways from the railway bridge to Riviera bridge along the right and left banks of the Sochi river.

“We have a baby and we work all the time. We decided to spend the weekend together. We put our baby in the baby carriage, came out and found ourselves in the Embankment totally pitted within the distance of three kilometers. It is a horror! No feeling of a holiday”, head of the family Oleg Kalinov said to the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent.

The Serebryakovs, holiday-makers from Saint Petersburg, came to visit their relatives in Sochi for the New Year’s holidays. They are indignant over construction works carried out without observance of any safety standards.

“Large-tonnage tall cranes are hanging above the skyscrapers under construction and their fragments hang right above the sidewalks. If anything tears off and falls down from there none of the people will survive”, Alla Serebryakova considers.
