Lawyers and relatives of three residents of Ingushetia reported torture to them and inaction of Public Prosecutor’s office

Attorneys and relatives of Ahmedkhan Aushev, Zurab Didigov and Bashir Mislaurov in Ingushetia report investigation’s unlawful actions and inaction of Public Prosecutor’s office. The lawyers state impossibility to meet with their clients and the defendants’ relatives fear that they are tortured. Representatives of the investigation decline comment.

On June, 29, representatives of power ministries reported detention of three gunmen in Nasyr-Kort district of Nazran. On July, 2, NAC explained that during a special operation leader of “Nazran” group Ahmedkhan Aushev, his driver Bashir Mislaurov and Zurab Didigov who provided the gunmen with communication facilities were detained. Mislaurov, Aushev and Didigov are suspected of blasting an engineer group of Inner Troops of the Ministry of Interior Affairs of Russia in Ingushetia in May of 2011, attempt at law enforcement officers and setting an explosive device in one of the settlements of Prigorodny district.

Luisa Isaeva: investigators ignore the lawyers completely

Didigov’s attorney Roza Dzeitova told the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent that she was not let meet with her client and that the investigation was preconceived. Aushev’s attorney Luisa Isaeva added that the investigators brought pressure on their clients.

Ayshev’s wife Inessa expressed fear that her husband was blackmailed by law enforcement bodies: they allegedly threatened him making him take the blame upon himself. Ausheva also said that all the three detainees underwent torture.

“For ten days the investigator concealed in which of the investigative isolation wards our clients were kept”, Mislaurov’s attorney Sherip Tepsaev says.

Investigator Vasily Larin refused to comment on the situation to the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent.
