KBR resident reports kidnapping of his brother

Today, in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR), unidentified masked men kidnapped Rezuan Afashagov, a villager Atazhukino, Baksan District, reported his brother Ali Afashagov, who turned to law enforcement bodies and human rights defenders asking to help to find Rezuan.

According to Ali Afashagov, today, his 25-year-old brother Rezuan left home to work to a neighbouring village. In the outskirts of the village, Rezuan's car was blocked by two cars, as the eyewitnesses of the incident told Ali. According to their story, about eight people, armed with submachine guns, in civilian clothes and masks, jumped out of the cars. They allegedly dragged Rezuan out of his car and put into one of theirs.

On the fact of kidnapping, relatives appealed to the Baksan District Prosecutor's Office and the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial".

According to Ali Afashagov, his brother professes Islam, makes namaz, but he never broke the law and had no links with members of illegal armed formations (IAFs), says the message of the HRC "Memorial" that was received by the "Caucasian Knot".
