Doctor Marat Gunashev, detained in Makhachkala, was secretly taken to North Ossetia, his advocate says

The advocate of the anaesthetist Marat Gunashev, detained on suspicion of involvement in the murder of Akhmed Magomedov, the Chief of the UVD (Interior Department) of Makhachkala, said that his client had been was illegally taken out of Dagestan and his life is in danger.

Marat Gunashev, a physician of the 2nd City Hospital of Makhachkala, was detained by power agents on November 28 during an operation; later, he was arrested as a suspect in the murder of Akhmed Magomedov, the Chief of the UVD of Makhachkala, committed on February 5, 2010. Marat Gunashev himself denies his involvement in the crime.

According to Zaur Magomedov, the advocate for Marat Gunashev, his client was taken on December 12 outside Dagestan, presumably, to Vladikavkaz, not waiting for the entry into force of the ruling of the Lenin District Court of Makhachkala, who had arrested Marat Gunashev up to January 28.

According to Magomedov, Gunashev complained about the use of force during his detention and expressed fear for his safety.

According to the case files, Gunashev had allegedly directly cooperated with the leaders of militants Gadjidadaev and Ibragimov and treating wounded militants.
