Armenian MoD: Azerbaijan pulled machinery and special fighters to the border
Azerbaijan has pulled up some military equipment and a special unit closer to certain sections of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, said Artsrun Ovannisyan, the press secretary of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Armenia.
On March 26, the press office of the Azerbaijani MoD reported that on the contact line of the parties of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Mekhman Sadygov, a soldier of the Azerbaijani Army, was killed in a shootout with Armenian troops. The spokesman of the Armenian army denies the fact of fighting and opening fire.
According to the spokesman of the MoD of Armenia, there is a direct link between the statements made by Azerbaijan after the death of the soldier and the current military activity.
"After the false claims of the shootout, made on March 25-26, the Azerbaijani party has intensified dramatically; and now in some sections of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border we see congestions of military vehicles and special-purpose groups," said the spokesman for the MoD of Armenia.
So far, their Azerbaijani counterparts have made no comments.
