Court sentences Gabibulaeva and Akaeva each to 2 years in colony
The imprisonment term for Zalina Gabibulaeva and Zaira Akaeva, residents of Dagestan, sentenced today to two years in colony, will be counted from the day of their detention.
Today, the prosecutor Sarmat Badtiev was the first to speak at the debates. "Despite the refusal to plead guilty, I believe that the proofs studied during the trial are sufficient to conclude that Gabibulaeva and Akaeva are guilty of their alleged crimes," said the prosecutor and asked for four years in colony to each of them.
In his turn, the advocate Sergey Tsallagov in his speech pointed to a number of violations at the inspection of Zalina Gabibulaeva's car and to contradictory statements of the witnesses. The advocate asked the court to find Gabibulaeva and Akaeva innocent and release them in the courtroom.
A chance to speak out was given to public defendants – Zalina Gabibulaeva's mother Sakinat Abdrakhmanova and Zaira Akaeva's brother.
"Nothing has been proved here, but we are powerless to prove it. My daughter was on the way to marry Rasul Kudaev. There were so many searches; they failed even to find some suspicious literature on her. She doesn't respond for her husband. She's young; and they just confused her. She's been trampled on deliberately," said Sakinat Abdrakhmanova.
The defendants said that they did not plead guilty. As a result, the court sentenced Gabibulaeva and Akaeva to two years of imprisonment in a general colony.
