Another terrorist organization claims responsibility for explosion in Metro

Kavkaz-Center agency received a message from a group that calls itself The Radical Political Activities Movement White Shadows. The message has the form of a manifesto of the movement that threatens specific terrorist acts against Russian government "unless Putin removes his candidacy from the upcoming elections and provide equal chances to the remaining candidates thereby."

The message is related to the explosion in Moscow's Metro on February 6, 2004. Another unknown group named Gazotan Murdash had formerly claimed responsibility for the terrorist act, and it had announced this action revenge for a "clean-up" in Novye Aldy, Chechnya, on February 5-6, 2000. The new group's message indicates in particular: "For certain reasons we cannot publish signatures of our movement members under this manifesto, but thousands of our supporters are already prepared for resolute action. Unfortunately, an accident happened to a technical officer and brother-in-arms of ours. A homemade explosive device detonated in transportation in the Metro on February 6, 2004. This device was a case with a plastic explosive. We do not know the reason that caused the detonation. But this could quite be cell phone signals because the radio detonator was to be launched with the help of mobile communication facilities. We had not planned the action, less so there could have been warnings or threats on anyone's part, as the media claims. What happened just confirmed our potential and revealed the inability of the extant government system to react adequately to events. The media-launched attack on ethnic Chechens is a proof. Fabricated by Federal Security Service (FSB) specialists, a statement by an alleged unknown Chechen group is aimed at stepping up ethnic instability in the contemporary Russian society. In our next message we will submit all technical details of the explosion that designers of this device alone can know, while FSB explosion experts can only have approximate examination information. Thus we will confirm our words as regards the reasons for the tragic accident in the Metro on February 6, 2004," this is how a so-called coordination council of The Radical Political Activities Movement White Shadows ends its manifesto message.
