“Armavia” air company in Armenia announced suspension of flights beginning from April, 1
National air carrier of Armenia “Armavia” suspended flights from April, 1, and initiated a bankruptcy procedure, Press service of the company reported.
“Aviation is a sphere where one cannot stop at what has been accomplished. However, today we are in a situation that does not let us continue work this way any longer. Therefore we took a decision to suspend flights and initiate a bankruptcy procedure”, “Novosti-Armenia” quotes the company’s report.
“Armavia” has currently not enough financial resources to be able to prolong its contract with the state and carry out its functions of national air carrier, Head of Chief Department of Civil Aviation of Armenia Artem Movsisyan reported.
According to him, no company has yet submitted a request of receiving a status of national air carrier, “Armenpress” reports.
