Chief Public Prosecutor’s office of Georgia declared impossibility of Givi Targamadze’s extradition to Russia

Givi Targamadze’s extradition to Russia is impossible, inquiry concerning him can be carried out only inside the country, Chief Public Prosecutor’s office of Georgia declared. However, according to a representative of the office, Georgia has not yet received the respective request from the Russian party on the issue.

It should be reminded that the investigation suspects Targamadze of rendering financial aid to the Russian opposition for organizing mass disturbances and acts of terror. The suspicion is based upon the TV film “Anatomy of Protest-2”.

Moscow has not yet sent us a request for help in investigation of this case, a representative of Press Service of Chief Public Prosecutor’s office of Georgia reported. In his turn, Vladimir Markin, official representative of Committee of Inquiry of Russia, assured that a request of rendering aid in the investigation would be sent to Georgia in the nearest future, RIA “Novosti” reports.

Meanwhile, Coordinator of the “Left Front” Sergey Udaltsov against whom a criminal case was initiated for the same reasondisclaimed the information that the actions of the opposition were guided by Georgian politician Givi Targamadze, “Interfax” reports.
