Dagestan: brother of suspect of committing terror act in the house of Sheikh Saeed Chirkey found dead

Amirkhan Aldamov, who went missing in December 2012, was found dead in the Gumbet District of Dagestan. The casualty is a brother Magomedali Amirkhanov, detained on suspicion of committing the terror act on August 28, 2012, which killed Sheikh Saeed(Said)Chirkey.

In December 2012, relatives of the 40-year-old Amirkhan Aldamov stated that he had been kidnapped in the Buinaksk District. Aldamov lived in the village of Ashilta, worked as a driver – he transported building materials for the villagers, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed by the head of the village Magomednur Nazirbegov.

According to investigators, Aldamov was found on March 24 by the Andijskoe Koisu River in the outskirts of the village of Chirkata, Gumbet District of Dagestan. The body had a cut wound in the neck; his hands were roped behind his back.

The casualty's brother Magomedali Amirkhanov was detained during a special operation on December 8, 2012. According to the Russia's National Antiterrorism Committee (NAC), he was a member of the so-called "Gimri grouping" of militants and was involved in the terror act on August 28, 2012, in the Sheikh's house in the village of Chirkey, Buinaksk District. Amirkhanov is in custody.
