Several persons injured during an attempt of seizure of a dormitory in Rostov-on-Don, eyewitnesses reported

In the morning of March, 26, unidentified people burst into “Parus” dormitory in Rostov-on-Don where about 100 persons lived and pulverized teargas. Eyewitnesses reported that several tenants were severely beaten up, a child was taken to resuscitation unit and two pregnant women to the emergency room.

The tenants are sure that they were attacked by employees of the new owner of the building who earlier sent them notifications of eviction where he demanded from them to move out until March, 21.

“A meeting with the new owner’s representatives on the tenants’ further fate was appointed. At that moment generally women and children were at home. Unidentified people came instead of the representatives using the pretext of the appointment to start blocking the house. People were pushed out and beaten with clubs. The attackers had no negotiations with the tenants”, 161.ru quotes one of the witnesses.

According to Yuri Balabanov, owner of the dormitory who bought it recently, he wanted to repair the building and for that purpose he closed the central entrance leaving two side ones open. The owner states that it was just this that the tenants were dissatisfied with, they said it was inconvenient to them, “Rostov News Agency” gives an account of Balabanov’s version.
